Rrefreshing a Portuguese holiday home

Refreshing Villa Sardinheiro involved assessing urgent needs after purchase, including new mattresses, terrace repairs, and a living room paint job. We enlisted local contractor Paul to tackle renovations like improving the steep access road. Our hands-on efforts during Easter break ensured upgrades to furnishings, amenities, and safety features, readying the property for holiday rentals.

When I write this, Yoran and I are on the plane back to Belgium. Yesterday we really bought our house during an unprecedented spectacle of a flamboyant and chaotic notary in Santa Comba Dão, a town not far from Tábua, where we now own a house on a mountain with a...
